22nd DaKINO International Film Festival

The 22nd edition of the DaKINO International Film Festival will run 3rd to 7th April 2013, at Cultural Center “House of Arts” – District 3 Bucharest, Grand Cinema Digiplex in Baneasa Shopping City, and Noul Cinematograf al Regizorului Roman (NCRR).

DaKINO International Film Festival maintains its initial structure, that of a Short Fiction Competition, with films selected by film critic Irina-Margareta Nistor vying for the DaKINO 22 Trophy.
Within the festival’s past edition, the international Jury presided by Anca Damian awarded the DaKINO Trophy to Australian short film Pinion, directed by Sylvie Asuka.

The Brilliant Docs section, initiated in 2010, will be presenting recent titles in Romania, the audience voting for Best Documentary. Within previous editions, Best Documentary was awarded to titles such as You’ve Been Trumped, directed by Anthony Baxter (DaKINO 21) and Yves Saint Laurent, l’amour fou, directed by Pierre Thoretton (DaKINO 20).

DaKINO will further organize film screenings, Q&A sessions and workshops targeting students within the “Know more, be better!” program, dedicated to extracurricular activities. Scheduled Thursday, April 4th and Friday, April 5th, these activities will take place at Cultural Center “House of Arts” – District 3 Bucharest and NCRR.

Every evening, within the 3 venues, DaKINO IFF will be presenting recent important films selected and awarded in festivals such as Berlin, Cannes, Toronto, most of which premiering in Romania.

The 22nd edition of DaKINO International Film Festival is organized by Bucharest District 3 City Hall, with the DaKINO Foundation and FAMart Cultural Boutique.
