The Psychoanalysis and Film Festival is in fact the Romanian projection of the European Psychoanalytic Film Festival presided by Italian director Bernardo Bertolucci. The Festival, already at its 7th edition, runs in London and is organized every two years by the Institute of Psychoanalysis in London.

The Psycholanalysis and Film Festival aims at presenting a number of recent important films, premiering or not distributed in Romania within the three days of the festival. Introductions and Q&A sessions will accompany the screenings. We will further encourage the participation of the filmmakers and will analyse the works from both standpoints.

This first edition of the Psychoanalysis and Film Festival, running 26th to 28th October 2012 at Grand Cinema Digiplex in Baneasa Shopping City, coincided with the International Psychoanalysis Conference in Bucharest, bringing together personalities from the US, England, France, Holland and so on.

The Festival is organised by FAMart Cultural Boutique, spearheaded by film critic Irina-Margareta Nistor, in association with the Romanian Society of Psychoanalysis. (www.srdp.ro)
